Eric Duane Damewood, loving son, brother, uncle and devoted father was tragically taken from this life Thursday May 11, 2006 at the age of 26. He was born to Duane and Sherry Damewood of La Porte on March 18, 1980. He was the apple of his parents eyes and his mother often referred to him as " My Coolest Dude". He leaves behind his father and mother; a precious daughter Kaytie Marie Damewood; fiance Sara Reynolds; sister Camilee Bargas and husband John and daughter Elizabeth; grandparents Gerald and Leona Rickabaugh, of Nebraska; loving uncles and aunts, numerous cousins and a never ending circle of friends. His passing will leave a void in the lives of those he touched and although he will be greatly missed he will never be forgotten. Eric had a zest for life that many of us only wished we could posses spending every moment with his "little squirt" Kaytie and surrounding himself with family and friends. His passions included cars, motorcycles, and fishing. What a wonderful young man! What a life!
Eric was passionate about riding motorcycles. On May 10, 2006 Eric and Debra were seperated and he went to Debra's house to visit with Kaytie who was 5 at the time. He rode on his motorcycle to Debra's. He was there for a while and visited. He then said his goodbyes and got on his motorcycle to head home. He never made it home. He was traveling down the street he lived on and a car driving next to him swirved into his lane clipping one of his tires. That sent his bike out of control hitting the curb and throwing Eric off the bike. He hit his head on the ground. He wore a helmet but it did not save his life. He broke his neck and died on impact. The guy that hit him says they were racing but, we will never know.
Eric we miss you more and more everyday!! We all know you are looking down on us and keeping us safe. We all love you! We all will see again one day. Hugs and kisses are always being sent to you in heaven.
